In MLB The Show 26, you can’t directly “farm” quirks like currency or resources. Quirks are fixed traits tied to specific player cards. But you can farm the XP, Stubs, and packs needed to acquire players with the most powerful quirks. Here’s how to do it efficiently, whether you’re building your Diamond Dynasty lineup or boosting your Road to the Show player.

1. Mini Seasons Speed Run – Fast XP and Packs

Why it works: Mini Seasons are quick, repeatable, and reward Championship Bundles plus Stubs. These bundles often contain high-tier players with active quirks like Dead Red or Outlier.

How to farm:

Start a Mini Seasons run.

Play only the home games on Rookie or Veteran difficulty. Quit away games to save time.

Aim to win 14–15 games to secure a playoff spot.

Winning the championship gives you bundles and Stubs to use on top-tier players.

Tip: Focus on winning efficiently. Your goal isn’t perfect stats—it’s XP and packs.

2. Team Affinity Grinding – Quirk-Heavy Cards

Why it works: Team Affinity (TA) cards are designed to be competitive and often come packed with active quirks.

How to farm:

Build your lineup from a specific division (like the AL East) to maximize TA points.

Play TA-focused modes such as Conquest or Mini Seasons.

Look for “Charisma” or “Awards” series cards; these usually have the most active quirks compared to standard Live Series cards.

Pro Tip: Stacking TA players also boosts your bonus XP and Stubs, making this method double-efficient.

3. RTTS Attribute Thresholds – Unlock Player Quirks

In Road to the Show, quirks are tied to your player’s raw stats. You unlock them by reaching specific attribute thresholds:

Cannon – Requires 90+ Arm Strength.

Sniper – Requires 90+ Arm Accuracy.

Road Warrior – Earned by performing well in away games.

Pro Tip: Prioritize Contact and Power first if you’re building a hitter. Hitting quirks like Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter are the most impactful for in-game performance.

4. Market Flipping for Active Quirks

Some quirks are much more valuable than others. Using the Marketplace wisely can help you acquire these players without spending real money.

How to farm Stubs and top-tier players:

Use the ShowZone app or the in-game Marketplace filter to find players with Active Quirks (they affect PCI or exit velocity).

Focus on high-value quirks: Dead Red, Outlier, Bad Ball Hitter, and Unfazed.

Flip lower-cost cards during off-peak hours to build a Stub bank.

Buy top-tier cards during market dips—usually Friday afternoons when new packs drop.

Tip: Passive quirks don’t improve performance—they only describe stats. Target Active Quirks for real gameplay advantage.

Bottom Line

While quirks in MLB The Show 26 aren’t farmable in the traditional sense, farming XP, Stubs, and packs effectively is the key. Combining Mini Seasons speed runs, Team Affinity stacking, RTTS attribute training, and market flipping will help you build a roster full of top-tier players with the quirks that truly make a difference on the field.
