If you have been grinding Arc Raiders lately, you already know the pain of trying to get your hands on the Canto SMG blueprint. It is easily one of the most sought-after weapons in the current meta, but hunting down the schematic can feel like banging your head against a brick wall. To actually get it, you have to target First Wave Raider Caches, which the community usually just calls Hurricane Caches. As the name implies, these boxes only spawn during the Hurricane map condition.
The real issue isn't just surviving the storm; it is dealing with incredibly low spawn rates and a heavily diluted loot pool. If you drop into matches standard-geared and just hope to stumble upon one, you are going to waste dozens of hours. To get this done efficiently, you need to strip down your loadout, maximize your speed, and optimize every single second of your run. Here is the breakdown of the fastest way to farm the Canto blueprint right now.
The Fast Farm "Naked Run" Strategy
The most effective method popularized by the community is running "naked." It sounds risky for an extraction shooter, but when you are purely hunting for a blueprint, it is the only way to maintain your sanity and respect your time. Here is how you set up and execute the loop:
  • Go Naked: Deploy into the match with an completely empty loadout. The only things you should bring are basic, cheap consumables like Adrenaline Shots for speed boosts and Smoke Grenades to break enemy line-of-sight if you get cornered. Do not risk your good gear. Your character's built-in Safe Pocket keeps the blueprint 100% secure the moment you pick it up, meaning you do not actually need to extract alive to keep it.
  • Run with the Wind: The Hurricane event brings brutal weather conditions, including intense winds that physically push your character. Pay attention to the direction the wind is blowing and try to always sprint with it. Running against the wind will drain your stamina bar almost instantly, leaving you a sitting duck.
  • Listen and Look: You do not need to physically poke your head into every single corner. Hurricane caches emit a highly distinct electrical humming sound and a subtle visual distortion effect. If you sprint up to a known node and do not hear that telltale hum, do not linger. Move on to the next spot immediately.
  • Instant Surrender: The second you locate a cache and grab that Canto blueprint, your job is done. Don't bother fighting your way to an extraction point. Open your menu, hit ESC, and select Surrender. Because the schematic sits safely in your safe pocket, you will teleport back to base with the loot secured, completely bypassing the riskiest part of the match.
  • Fast Re-queue: Efficiency is everything. If you check your primary routes and find zero active caches within the first 5 to 8 minutes of the match, do not stick around to scavenge normal loot. Immediately surrender, head back to the lobby, and queue into a fresh match to reset the spawns.

High-Yield Cache Locations
While caches can technically pop up in various spots, you want to focus your runs on specific maps where the nodes are tight and predictable.
  • Spaceport & Blue Gate: Ask anyone on the Arc Raiders Reddit or discord, and they will tell you these are the best maps for the grind. The cache clusters here are highly predictable, and the terrain is wide open enough that you can navigate between spawn points rapidly without getting snagged on environment geometry or trapped by AI.
  • The Dam (Pattern Building): This is a massive, highly underrated sleeper spot. There is a specific cache node that spawns indoors here inside the Pattern Building. A lot of players completely skip this building because they do not want to take the time to go inside during a storm, making it an incredibly reliable, uncontested node for a naked runner who knows exactly where to look.

Navigational Resources
To take the guesswork out of your routes entirely, do not just drop in blind. Before you deploy, pull up the MetaForge App Map Tracker on a second monitor or your phone. Filter the map settings specifically for active events to see real-time, community-mapped cache nodes. This lets you plan your exact running path before your boots even hit the ground, ensuring you are checking live, high-probability locations on every single rotation.
